Eniig Case Study

Data silos eliminated. Company-wide collaboration made easy

As a cooperative, Eniig provides electricity, fiber infrastructure, and district heating to nearly 400,000 customers. The company formed as a result of a merger between EnergiMidt and HEF in 2016. Prior to the merger, EnergiMidt and HEF were utilizing two different systems. The merger initiated the search for not only a new network management system, but also a way of migrating and converting the data from the old systems without corrupting or losing any data.

3-GIS was determined to be the best choice to solve both of these challenges, and a 6-month process of data migration, implementation, training, and enhancements began. Now, 3-GIS is being used by designers and project managers within Eniig’s fiber-division, and throughout the entire organization to help enable data-driven decisions company-wide.

  • Implement a new, scalable solution that was agile and configurable, simple for users to work in, and easily integrated with other OSS/BSS systems.

  • Time to market reduced from 23 days to 17 days
  • Legacy data converted in 5 months

  • 7,500,000 port records converted in 5 months
  • 2 Mobile users trained
  • 27 users trained
  • 2,100,000 fiber records converted in 5 months

Performance enablers

  • API integration allows us to share physical network data across the enterprise
  • Network utilization data is used to help us direct specific areas for sales campaigns
  • Custom tools developed allow us to leverage customer data and turn on fiber services faster

"We are using the data in the whole organization...so they can use it in sales, or in installation, or in customer service. They can get the data they want or need for doing their job."

-Maibritt Fyhn Nielsen, Documentation and Implementation Manager
